The Postal Service has informed states that they’ll need to pay first-class 55-cent postage to mail ballots to voters, rather than the normal 20-cent bulk rate. That nearly triples the per-ballot cost.https://prospect.org/coronavirus/unsanitized-federal-benefit-extension-anger-unemployment-evictions/ …

“A side benefit of this money grab is that states and cities may decide they don’t have the money to mail absentee ballots, and will make them harder to get. Which is exactly the worst-case scenario everyone fears.” THESE FUCKING THUGS. 🤬

It's an extra cost to states already suffering from the pandemic and economic crisis. It's one more hurdle to prevent people from voting.

Just pay the $.55. It is normal, not different, for the ballot size & weight. FIFTY-FIVE CENTS POSTAGE IS NORMAL.

Hmmm, let's think of a way to work around this. Maybe we can send self stamped envelopes? COME ON PEOPLE! Let's start brainstorming solutions instead of complaining. The game is on! We need to put on our big girl and big boys pants and get to work!

I guess this means we need to ask if we can deliver our Absentee/VBM ballots in person before the polls open in such a way that it is safe and secure. Or, we should just go an pick them up with an ID. Anyone know how we can do these things?
