He didnt "clash" with police he was beaten so severely they broke his arm in two places. For God's sake we all saw the video...he stood there and took it. For you to frame it as a clash suggests he was culpable instead of a victim of violent government sanctioned overreach.

“Beaten” is probably what you should say as it’s the plain truth. “Clash” implies he fought back.

But he did fight back, by being better than they weee. By challenging the safe assumptions that let them do whatever they want. They struck him physically and lost. He struck them verbally, morally, ethically, politically, and won. There was no contest.
