What is the difference between bisexual and pansexual?
Pansexual became @MerriamWebster's most searched term today after Janelle Monáe came out in a @RollingStone interview.https://twitter.com/i/moments/989818675749269504 …
Serious question. How is this different from bi-sexual?
1/ Not only is @JanelleMonae proudly living her truth, she is bringing visibility to others whose sexual orientations are often erased or ignored. https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2018/04/27/pansexual-janelle-monae-bisexual-visibility/557929002/ …
2/ For those who need more information on what #bisexual, #pansexual and #queer identities mean, here’s a quick rundown:
3/ #Bisexual: A person emotionally, romantically or sexually attracted to more than one sex, gender or gender identity though not necessarily simultaneously, in the same way or to the same degree.
4/ #Pansexual: Describes someone who has the potential for emotional, romantic or sexual attraction to people of any gender though not necessarily simultaneously, in the same way or to the same degree.
6/6 These identities mean different things to different people -- and we’re so grateful to @JanelleMonae for the opportunity to celebrate them all.

Bisexual = attraction to two or more genders
Pansexual = attraction to all or most genders
Many people exist in the overlap. Many people do not.
Bi as a label has never been exclusive of trans and non-binary people.
The definition of bi BY bi people hasn't changed.pic.twitter.com/qy1i4T77pE
Ooookay since I was 19 I identified myself as #Bisexual... after reading all the news and educating articles today, I know now that I've always been an all-inclusive Bi, so that makes me ALSO #pansexual Hip hip hurraaaay!

I went from identifying as bisexual to pansexual over the last two years. Someone said Pansexuals just want to be loved and what gender or sexuality that love comes from doesn’t even matter and I related so much to that sentiment.
tbh i call myself bi because labels matter to me a lot, and pansexual has an ugly transphobic origin story while bisexual has a long & beautiful legacy of queer resistance but use whatever floats ur boats pals
"but bi means two" and oct means eight but october is the 10th month, suck it up
PSA bisexual ≠ attracted to men and women it means: - attracted to same and other genders, or - attracted to two or more genders, or - attracted to people regardless of gender plus it's got a really neat history in the LGBT+ movement
not to be ~controversial~ but i honestly think there’s no real semantic difference between bisexual and pansexual lol just my lukewarm take tho
ID’ing as pansexual as an LGBT yute was basically my way of avoiding saying i liked girls outright by saying i liked ALL genders but then i realised that was fuelled by a whole lot of internalised homophobia and that the label of bisexual summed up what i felt just as accurately
bisexual just feels a bit more overt in saying you’re attracted to the same gender like. ID how u want obvs but acting like pansexual is somehow more inclusive is,,,,, incorrect lol there’s barely any difference
In case you missed it, Janelle Monae came out. Not as lesbian, straight, bisexual, pansexual or asexual. Janelle came out as free. That, is enough. http://ow.ly/ovHY30jHp98
Janelle Monáe comes out as pansexual in the latest @RollingStone cover story and says that through her experiences, she hopes that "people are seen and heard."https://twitter.com/i/moments/989504238140223488 …
