What really was Luke's plan in 'Star Wars: Return of the Jedi?'

I wrote about the STAR WARS question that has been lingering unanswered for 35 years and I dare ANYONE to come up with an answer. http://uproxx.it/2GSy5vA
This stemmed from a Monday night RETURN OF THE JEDI rewatch at a bar with @jasoncfry and @rossluippold. There is no reasonable answer.
Thank GOD someone has written about this. Been bugging me for 30 years. The rebels coulda just sent a damn company of troops in there and shot the place up, but instead we get . . . whatever the hell this was, even if it was cool.https://twitter.com/mikeryan/status/968932487782158340 …
The internet was suppose to set us free. Enlighten us all. And here we are.

The group couldn't agree on a plan (no Han around to cut through the bull) so Lando, R2-D2, Leia/Chewie and Luke all decide to try their own ideas one at a time. They each get impatient when someone else's plan takes too long and go rogue on their own successively. 1/
Also seems like Luke's plan was to hide his lightsaber in R2 (maybe he thought Jabba's guards would pat him down?) and then wreck shop once he got inside. Except R2 went AWOL and he had to improvise and C3P0 wasn't quick enough to tell him about the trap door 2/
It's a preview of Luke's plan to turn himself in and assume Vader will turn. It also highlights the inner turmoil that will lead to the failure of the New Republic and Luke's arrogance that will lead to Ben Solo's turn...I'm so good at ret-conning I could be a Lucasfilm novelist
I do say the closest thing that makes sense is it's three separate plans.
I always kinda chalked it up to a Oceans 11-style heist: keep hiding your players and assets in plain sight with a series of failsafes.https://twitter.com/mikeryan/status/968932487782158340 …
I always read it as 3 separate plans. Reminds me of a lot of spy movies and shows where the team has broken up but all try and rescue the hero.
I say the only thing that makes sense is if they all just randomly showed up separately and didn't talk before.
It's an impossible thing to answer.
