Richard Barnett, the man who was photographed with his feet resting on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's desk after a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol on Wednesday, has been arrested and charged with three federal counts, including theft of property. West Virginia state legislator Derrick Evans, who live streamed himself storming in to the Capitol building, has been charged with entering a restricted area by federal prosecutors.

Man who waved tricolour at US Capitol insurrection identified by multiple news reports

Vincent Xavier — also known as Vinson Palathingal — spoke to news channels, including Times Now and CNN News18, and said he was present when a mob of President Trump's supporters stormed the US Capitol and engaged with riot police. Xavier was seen carrying the tricolour, prompting criticism from many who said that he did not represent the country. He denied being among those who entered the building. As of Thursday, police in Washington, DC, have arrested 68 people following the violence.
