Shitposting about Narcan at midnight
TIL you don’t need a prescription for Narcan in most states thanks to lobbying from CVS and Walgreens. You still have to pay but many insurers cover it for free.
Why is this cost not subsidized by Pharma companies who make a profit from opioids?

Which is only helpful if you identify the risk and procure it in advance. You should be able to run into any drug store, fire or police station and get it for free, on the spot.
Two years ago this month, I lost a close friend to heroin. His roommate found him and didn’t know what to do. If he’d had Narcan on him, it likely would have saved his life. I had to pick his belongings up from SFPD and deliver them to his parents.pic.twitter.com/uJSVDMZmL3
People getting pissed about narcan but not the overall opioid crisis and the pharmaceutical profit role is bizarre. People being ashamed of addiction instead of helping is bizarre. We have a long way to go, world
The stigma is heartless and dehumanizing. Fucking deplorable. On a lighter note, our cousin told me some stories about violating people’s buttholes to coax them out of an overdose. Turns out it doesn’t work, but does make for a pretty hilarious story.
