The TV shows that helped people through their hardest times
What is the TV show that got you through an unbelievably sad time?
Parks and Rec was one of the few shows I could handle after my daughter died. I can’t think of any other shows I could really watch back then.

Parks and Rec and The West Wing should be recognized by the America Psychiatric Association as effective treatment options when used in conjunction with other clinically tested therapies.
I watched hours of Project Runway every day with my stepdad when he was dying of a glioblastoma...
Reality TV is an essential tonic.
The Sopranos, after my 14 yr old son died of cancer. The first weekend I was alone after he died, I was focused too much on his pain and my loss. Someone loaned me the first few episodes on DVD. By the 3rd episode, I realized that "story" could allow me moments of escape.
@BobsBurgersFOX is really comforting to me. On days where all I can bring myself to do is lay in bed and don’t even really want to focus on watching something, I’ll put on Bob’s Burgers because I’ve seen every episode a million times and it puts me at ease.https://twitter.com/bessbell/status/1063922306609668096 …
Brooklyn 99 always pulls me out of the saddest moments.https://twitter.com/bessbell/status/1063922306609668096 …
Degrassi actually helped a lot of preteens and teens by explaining stuff adults just couldn’t comprehend unless they were in it.https://twitter.com/bessbell/status/1063922306609668096 …
