I helped to light the flames both last night and tonight. Final shift on Saturday. It's been a real honour and privilege to be selected for #towerremembers having helped plant the poppies in 2014 on two shifts.pic.twitter.com/wErsbauD1w
Stumbled across this tonight while walking by @TowerOfLondon - an extremely moving installation commemorating the end of #WW1. Was beautiful to listen to - video doesn’t do it justice. #Londonpic.twitter.com/6ybWC2yTiM
An amazing display for #Remembrance by @TowerOfLondon
Can @tompiperdesign confirm whether this display of 10,000 candles was inspired by #Diwali which is on Wednesday, & is the #FestivalOfLight where divas/diyas (candles/lamps) are lit to celebrate the triumph of good over evil?https://twitter.com/TowerOfLondon/status/1059184852703027202 …
It is inspired by the universal symbolism of bringing light to banish darkness , to bring hope and peace after war . As a humanist and pacifist I hope it speaks to the fragility of peace and the importance of remembering the fallen and trying to prevent war happening again .
