Macron announces nightly curfew in major French cities as COVID-19 cases surge

French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Wednesday that a nightly curfew for several cities, including Paris, will come into effect on Saturday. Gatherings will also be limited to a maximum of six people. The move comes after the country reported over 22,000 new cases in a single 24 hour period.
