Wonk-world savages everything-bagel liberals for trying to do too much with manufacturing subsidies.
In the real world, those subsidies didn't actually come with any hard guarantees, & companies are freezing unions out as a result.

I spoke to the president of the Arizona building trades council, who finally got a meeting with TSMC. “It was the iciest meeting I’ve ever been in,” he told me. “There is zero interest in doing business with us.”

Kind of a star-studded piece with an economic cast of characters including David Card, David Autor, Luigi Zingales, Gabriel Chodorow-Reich, John Kwoka, Perry Mehrling, Teresa Ghilarducci and more.

Impossible to overstate how much this belief is driving the attacks on public education and democracy. They've lost the kids. And the more that sinks in, the more desperate they will get.

Like Mayor 's constituents, hardworking families are told that education is the way to financial security.
But afterward, when struggling to buy homes, open businesses & start families due to student debt, they are unfairly told to shoulder that burden themselves!

The decision by @mehdirhasan to pull a pure ad hominem interview, with no purpose but to attack me personally to deflect attention from what we’ve found, reveals him to be the latest in a long line of security-state attack dogs at @MSNBC whose job is to obscure damaging truths.

I've had one class session on various aspects of technology in legal writing (e.g. using styles, cross-references, and auto-generating TOCs in Word, using Zotero). Should I add another one specifically on the use of LLMs? Should I build in pieces here & there? What are you doing?

These models also hallucinate citations. see theguardian.com/commentisfree/
Should a teacher (more?) closely review citations than they have in the past? I've always emphasized to students that they should seek primary sources.
Do they? Surely not all the time.
