Can’t believe this. Why does 60 Min have to equate “lockdown” with “mask up”? Mask is meant to ALLOW people to return to work without being locked down. Masks protect people from spitting into each other’s faces when they have to go to work. Gee...

Nice SMS message! I wasn't really expecting anything else as both kids had also got a negative back (but positive for Rhinovirus) but better be safe than sorry when we all had the sniffles, sore throad etc.. Having that test done gave an "interesting" feeling in the sinuses.pic.twitter.com/pcEMHAKYbv

High SARS-CoV-2 sensitivity of patient-collected nasal (94%) & mid-turbinate (96%) swabs compared to healthcare worker-collected nasopharyngeal swabs. Could be very useful alternative.https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMc2016321 …

There's been a nasty uptick in stigmatisation and finger-pointing ever since cases started increasing in VIC. It doesn't make anyone safer. Promote, educate, role model and facilitate (as

Groundhog Day: 5th day running with new community cases in teens. A tired metaphor, but NSW still on knife-edge. Interested what % new community cases over last week in self-isolation *prior* to detection, vs “linked” to clusters after detection. Hopefully, vast majority former.https://twitter.com/nswhealth/status/1289365411838869504 …

I was utterly struck when interviewing
@MarylouiseMcla1 last week by her contention that a virus can spread in 2 main ways: mutate to improve its intrinsic fitness, or capitalise on human behaviour. We can't do anything about the first, but the second is what it's all about -

I’m optimistic too, re Covid-19 vaccine. But, not sure about precise timeline. And, who is “the U.S.” Does it include the most vulnerable: people in aged care facilities, people experiencing homelessness, people who are incarcerated? Let’s hope. Maybe a few non-U.S. folk too.https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1289269617987170304 …
