RIP Bob Wakelin. The artist that defined Ocean gaming in the 80s and 90s. There was nothing like the buzz of running up to the art department to see what Bob had delivered for your game's cover. I'll sorely miss the loveable old scouse rogue.

Very sad to hear of the death of Bob Wakelin. His incredible artwork graced so many game covers over the years. He will be hugely missed. My thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

Very sad to hear about the passing of legendary artist Bob Wakelin - one of the greatest game box art and ad illustrators of the 80s and 90s. He produced a myriad of absolutely outstanding compositions over the years, many of which have gone on to become icons of the era.

Absolutely gutted to hear that Bob Wakelin has passed away. I got to meet him just a few years ago at Play Expo Blackpool; a really warm & friendly guy who created so many iconic covers for the games we cherished. RIP Bob & thank you for all the wonderful art. ♥️

Bob Wakelin passed away last night. A inspirational person with such a warm personality and sensational skills. He was such a massive influence to a generation, bringing those dreams alive with his stunning gamecovers. His art inspired many to pick up a game and get invovled!

Very sad to hear that Bob Wakelin has passed away. We met & spoke to Bob a fair bit over the past 7 years, not only was he the best cover artist in the video game business but he was also a very friendly and funny guy. Our thoughts are with his wife Gill and his kids. RIP Bob

Maybe it was me being ignorant when I was a kid but I never knew who created these pieces of artwork. I’m glad I now know the name of the man who helped paint my childhood. Thank you, Bob, you will live on through the gallery you have created.

Probably my favourite Bob Wakelin artwork was the one he did for Ocean's Hunchback. Always makes me smile when I see it. I always meant to ask Bob if he would sign me a print of it, but something always got in the way. Now it's too late. :(
