Hong Kong police raid news publication's office and arrest at least six senior staff

Live

Hong Kong's national security police arrested at least six current and former staff of Stand News for alleged "conspiracy to publish seditious publication" in an early morning raid on Wednesday, the region's government said. Earlier in June, Hong Kong police raided the office of Apple Daily newspaper and arrested five executives, while a similar raid was conducted in August 2020 along with the arrest of Apple Daily's founder Jimmy Lai. The arrests come a day after Jimmy Lai and six Apple Daily top executives were charged with the same alleged crime.
