Images of tickets for a ‘second inauguration’ are doctored, fact-checkers say
There is no constitutional way for former US president Donald Trump to be reinstated as president because he lost the November 2020 election, according to reporters and fact-checkers. A doctored image circulating online of fake tickets to an event purporting to be Trump’s “second inauguration” was made from a blank template, Snopes reports.
❌ This is not a pair of tickets to Donald Trump's "second inauguration." This photo editing job originated on 4chan.
There is no constitutional way for Donald Trump to be "reinstated" as president in August. https://bit.ly/3gkHd0D

"This picture appears to have been first posted to the internet message board 4chan on June 13. That posting appears to have been made as a joke to mock the idea that Trump would soon be reinstated to the presidency. It did not include an offer to sell and we have not seen anyone offering these nonexistent tickets for purchase (or anyone purchasing them) for $1,200. While it’s possible that a scam artist will offer them for sale, these faux tickets are for a fictional event." - Snopes
"According to the event website from the U.S. Capitol, there isn’t an event scheduled on August 15. There are no events listed on the website or social media accounts for Donald Trump." - ABC10
"Another clue is that the event text font does not match the font of the ticket template, suggesting that 'Trump’s inauguration' tickets have been manipulated." - Dispatch Fact Check
so one viral image on a QAnon board shows tickets for sale to the "second inauguration" of former President Donald Trump, marked on sale for $1,200 each, with Kid Rock and Ted Nugent are listed as headliners for the event.
so we tracked those images down:
for starters, the photo was manipulated to include the event information using a stock photo from http://123rf.com, a stock content agency that sells royalty-free images. so there's that.
there is an (obviously) no event scheduled on August 15. There are no events listed on the website or social media accounts for Donald Trump either. and my fav little nugget:
On Ted Nugent’s tour website, on August 15 the singer will be performing at the Riviera Theatre in North Tonawanda, New York. Kid Rock will be at Mt. Pleasant, Michigan’s Soaring Eagle Casino on August 15.
so there's also that.
"Trump lost his bid for reelection in November 2020. Though the former president continues to claim that the election was rigged (it wasn’t) by widespread voter fraud (also an evidence-free claim), and though many of his supporters have been led to believe that he will soon be reinstated is president, these claims are not based in reality." - Snopes
His candidacy did not stir an Obama-like youth movement or a Trump-like cult of personality, but Joe Biden ran for the White House as a sober and conventional presence, a case study in discipline and restraint. Here’s how he won:
"In the end, voters did what Mr. Biden asked of them and not much more: They repudiated Mr. Trump, while offering few other rewards to Mr. Biden’s party. And by a popular vote margin of four million and counting, Americans made Mr. Biden only the third man since the Second World War to topple a duly elected president after just one term." - The New York Times
Trump said he won the election. That's not true. Biden won the election. Joe Biden has won more votes than Donald Trump in battleground states that put him past the 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency. States have certified results:
