Dublin's Trinity College rips up its lawns to allow wildflowers to grow

The 150-year-old lawn, which is a feature of the college in central Dublin, has been torn up and will be replaced with a wildflower meadow. A vote in February saw 90% of respondents in support of changes to College Green.

    This is excellent news, I can’t wait to see how Front Gate will change now with the seasons. are there any more plans to do similar works around campus? There are lots of paved areas where raised beds of wildflower could be added in to add some colour and life.

  8. Due to COVID-19 we took a pause, but wanted to let you know results of vote. 13,850 votes. 90% in favour of turning the front of Trinity from a lawn into a wildflower meadow. We won’t be planting quite yet, but stay tuned, we’ll update as circumstances allow.
