    LA County sheriff just said there was a "ceiling" and visibility issue prior to crash of Kobe Bryant's helicopter near Calabasas this morning, i.e. clouds resulted in aircraft flying lower than normal. To be clear though, LASD wont determine cause of crash -- that's for NTSB.

  26. John Altobelli was the OCC baseball program. Invested and raised funds heavily to get new warning tracks, a turf field, new press boxes, etc. OCC was two days away from starting their state title defense. Sounds like the team wants to keep playing on schedule for him.

  39. Chief Osby: The firefighters had to hike into the incident. The paramedics were hoisted down to search for survivors. The presence of magnesium made the fire worse. It took 8 minutes to arrive on scene and one hour to extinguish the fire.
