Agree that it’s not the time for stigma & discrimination. But we also need to give accurate info. Monkeypox has multiple modes of transmission & sexual route appears to be an efficient one. Ppl need to know how it’s transmitted, so they can make informed decisions for prevention.

Theoretically, MPX can be transmitted to anyone through contact with body fluids, monkeypox lesions, or shared items. But, as per epi data, MPX clearly doesn’t transmit as readily as through intimate close contact. Here are some thoughts about why this might be. (n/7)

On CNN, says his level of concern about monkeypox is a “10” out of 10 — as virus has spread to thousands in U.S. — but he adds that there has not been a confirmed death from outbreak.

New CDC MMWR finds that nearly half of U.S. public health workers surveyed experienced at least one symptom of a mental health condition during the #COVID19 pandemic. PTSD symptoms were highest, followed by anxiety, depression, & suicidal thoughts. More: bit.ly/mm7129a4

I’m off to Wash DC this AM for Tuesday’s WH Summit. My view there are 4 parts to this: 1) long range strategy focused around universal CoV vaccines, 2) how we manage boosters for the rest of the year and likely well into 2022 3) equity 4) hesitancy

Waiting to hear if I can go to work today. My daycare has too many staff out due to covid to open every classroom. This is such an unsustainable way to parent/work/live, and it’s been going on for years now.
