Been thinking a lot about what comes after “free software” & “open source.” Both terms were coined when the tech industry (& the world) was a very different place. I think we’ve outgrown them.

I’ve listened to lots of folks & lawyers argue about licensing for decades, and always had trouble with the concept of constraining people to be free. Consent & consensus can’t be legislated for, community needs to be built to include, before the tools can be free
