This ... is misguided. There is the science side of this - "ancestral population" is a crude, "bucket" centric view of human history that there is a point of time that is most relevant for "ancestry" with people living there. It is at best crude, at worst plain wrong.

But beyond the details of how to represent the complexity of human history and someone's genome estimation of the tips of this process (and its very complex) its really weird to think there is something important about the connection of someone now to this.
