    As I always say, and we can learn quite a bit from this simple formula for understanding jihadist groups as they stand today: - Al-Qaeda Central is Egyptian - ISIS is Iraqi - Nusra/HTS is Syrian - Hurras al-Din is Jordanian Any other dynamics are secondary.

    And finally this, what says. The idea of a AQC running a centralised worldwide network of jihadists is increasingly a thing of the past. I only half joke when I say that if Zawahiri is still with us, he's going to turn AQC into a boring podcast.
