With the momentum of a Turkish operation against HTS in Idlib, I want to register my skepticism about a real fight. Neither Turkey nor HTS is interested in such a fight. Either that both sides will seek to avoid actually fighting, or that Turkey will keep it limited to some areas

People underestimate how poorly perceived the rebels in the Euphrates Shield are, and for them to fight HTS in Idlib effectively is a fantasy. They have neither the force nor the legitimacy to fight HTS along with

The conundrum is that a deal in favor of HTS in Idlib defeats the point, and a fight to expel HTS means Idlib will remain a war zone for a long while. A way to avoid confrontation is certainly the priority for everyone now.
