Almost migrated each one of our tools out of Electron, it took a while but was well worth it.

I'm not a bit fan of Electron but I'm curious, why'd you decide to make the switch?

We rely on battery a lot, and using our own supposedly "lightweight" apps was running our batteries down. We don't use any Electron application anymore, but we wanted to keep on making things.

Now let's try compile it to webassembly. ;)
(Seriously though, impressive. I wonder why you chose such an old version of C? Portability?)

portability and similarity to the inferno and plan 9 c compilers.

Couldn't get rust compiler on Plan 9, and I wasn't really familiar with Go. So, C was a more practical choice.

Interesting. I recall ha big a convo with you about electron and was curious why you used it. At the time you said you wanted to use the highest level of abstraction. May I ask what prompted the rewrite?

Over the past 3 years, we went from "I want to the computer to figure out what I mean", to "I don't want the computer to make any assumptions". We learnt a lot, but lots more to learn now.
