My first job. Cashier at a supermarket. I was sick New Year’s Eve 1999. Didn’t believe me and my mother spoke to the supervisor on the phone

-
(I was sick that day (week) too!
I had a fever and was delirious. Made for an interesting NYE)

Not when I was sick... But when the roads were icy in Texas, which caused my first car accident ever. Thankfully, I wasn't harmed, but my car got damage that I had to pay to repair. Sigh.

In college I worked at a restaurant were they gave me the hardest time about calling in sick. They threatened me and said I had to bring in a doctor’s note before I would be put back on the work schedule. I didn’t b/c I couldn’t afford a copay and meds.

I was working behind a bar, couldn’t physically stand up straight to reach the pumps as wss doubled over & was made to work my shift (my appendix had partially ruptured - I was 19)

-
I ruptured my spleen and my appendix, the next day I fell down twice at work and was accused of being drunk, the next day I was fired for not showing up, the next day the doc at the mergency room told me I was gonna die. 14 months in the hospital, i haven't worked since no ssi.
