    There are people who go from place to place doing the same things over and over again. Don’t be surprised or disappointed if you hire someone like that and they have zero interest in how your organization works or what’s unique about it. I call them cookie cutter candidates.

    A. One email and one voicemail. After that, what’s the point? Companies are notoriously slow to get back to candidates even when they want to continue interviewing them. Do not wait for anybody to get back to you - put another iron in the fire.

    Today I drove hours to the Washington state capitol to beg lawmakers to tax me more. A new proposed tax on Seattle-area businesses would fund homelessness services. It would cost us less than our annual low-key holiday party - and would help house the homeless. My testimony:
