Why do people interpret honest experiences about motherhood as a negative attack on the child? She went from saving lives to changing nappies. That alone is a drastic change. At least by going to work, she can maintain the identity she feels she has lost.

It reminds me of that one story of a guy that sometimes had to go away from his child and the mother to unwind. Have an alone time. People seem to forget that parents are still their own person and have their own lives.

Thank you for being honest and true , her child and her would grow to have a clear and genuine relationship , word of advice do not have a second child and take extra steps to ensure you don't and enjoy those mundane tasks because your child would grow up and become distant

So, because she has perspective, her kid is gonna be distant? Her baby is still young. Plenty of dads don't connect with babies till they are several months older & they get no blame...

Over time life becomes obvious. Maybe that child will absorb the mothers unspoken reactions and respond accordingly at some time.
