I've never been to Basra, but I remember Baghdad in the mid-seventies where I installed the first computerised publishing system at your national newspaper. Lovely city with lovely people who looked after me for the month I was there. We just have stupid leaders.

I think before they bomb anyone, Americans should get an individual vote. Bombing people is a big deal. I think most Americans would choose not to hurt anybody, but I know there are some of the bomb first, ask questions later variety and they are usually loud. So sorry.

From what I've seen its ignorance & medias fear mongering, that's the culprit. Any informed american, is nice n quite humble IMO. I have few USA friends. They're all very nice people.

Everyone used to talk about Baghdad in the 60’s - 70’s. Truly governments are monsters. Whether it was yours or the Americans.

I'm so sorry. It breaks my heart thinking of all that the Iraqi people have suffered.
