To the woman in this picture, Alzheimer’s is a brutal disease. Please know that it is the disease speaking and not the person. Additionally, if you love your children, you will have done what your mother couldn’t. Focus on the positive.

Nope, the Alzheimers is showing who she really is. My granmother had Alzheimer's and would always compliment my mother and tell the story of how my father was born over and over again.

No one is ever quite as hurtful as a parent.

Mine used to tell me that nobody loves you but your family. I remember thinking, “ guess I’m screwed then. “ Yet, we do keep hoping. And trying to remember that all forgiveness really means is giving up all hope of a better past.

We never stop hoping to be understood. I hear you. I know it may not mean anything, but I understand.

I can identify with a few of these stories. I like them because I was never able to articulate my feelings and now I can live vicariously through others' experiences.

Really wish
@humansofny would go back to the sans serif typeface. This recent serif typeface — which would be better as a header than a body text — is so much harder to read.https://twitter.com/humansofny/status/1029062065808265217 …
