Love to the mothers that only want the best for us, their daughters, even when we’re too stubborn to see it. Gotta hug my mom today.

My mom was VERY hard on me growing up when it came to school and work. She wasn't a "Tiger Mom," but she let her expectations be known and did not tolerate fuckery. I'm so glad she was hard on me. She made me successful. Don't give up, Momma. You're doing the right thing.

Thanks to God who gave you dat mother

I feel ya. But my story is opposite of yours. I applied to one school, telling my mother I wanted to take a semester off. Sent in the app when I was out of the country as an exchange student for a year. I got accepted & she enrolled me, paid the tuition without telling me first.

There’s a lesson in everything. It’s so hard when you want something so bad for your children. Remembering they came through you and are not you can be tough. It will all work out and perhaps this “mistake” will help her appreciate college more in the future

I wished that my oldest had gone to College, but he had no interest after HS. I tried not to sweat it, & he always worked hard at what he did. Today, at 28, he has a successful career, & just bought a brand new house paid for all by himself with every hard earned penny

One of mine also had bought a home for himself and family. He was very proud he could and did that. He also had decided not to go to Duke University when he'd been accepted at 12 w a scholarship waiting after high school graduation. But once again he's on top again
