A lot of women stay in these *relationships* because they don't want to be alone. But then, as statistics have shown, the man dies before the woman and at that point the woman is left wondering why she didn't grab her chance to life when she was young enough to enjoy it.

I've been by myself but very content and fulfilled, I've been with someone else and felt very alone. What I'm gathering from this is that she is confusing "being alone" and "loneliness." I think she'd be much happier with them being "soul mates" as friends only.

This is so interesting to me because I am currently reading a book on relationships between gay men & straight women. The book explores platonic relationships where the two stay together and co-exist in a space together like a ‘married couple.’
