Why must she say 'my African mother', why not just say 'my mother'!
-
She reckons her mother's opinion would be different if she wasn't African

@Roporay ... what do you think make the mother finally come around
-
Cash uno..can’t blame the Mum either. She wanted her to be “safe” financially. But “safe” isn’t good. Sadly, 95% strive for safe..

Sometimes what others see as the "best" job (i.e. the most secure, practical, in demand, or highest in status) does not match w/ what's best for us personally. Parents, take note. Don't squelch a child's gifts/passions/talents 4 smthg "safer". That's not growth. It's conformity.

I wish people weren’t so ignorant when it comes to geography, so she could just say what country her mother is from instead of saying African
-
Saying my African mother makes it as if, she has an American one. It don't matter where your mother is from, she is your mother, done.
