Provocative statements in this talk. My top 1: “Very small differences initial conditions can lead to wildly divergent outcomes. So, on a certain level, the only place you can test is production. That has really interesting implications for things like user testing.”

"The future of electric cars isn’t Tesla. It’s golf carts" (Not exactly golf carts. But this is fascinating for numerous reasons)

You wouldn't know it if you only followed the Aus debate, but France's response to the monopoly power of Facebook etc was to implement a 3% tax on revenue, to bypass corporate offshoring of profits. Easy to guess by News/Nine don't want to argue for more taxes, but everyone else?

I’m continually amazed that Australia’s constitution names New Zealand as a state that could join if they want to. Which I understand to mean NZ could just decide, at any time, to become part of Australia.

Every time I get one of those auto-generated Cortana emails I think of this passage from Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash. Longer source here:

Screen-shot of a passage from Neal Stephenson's 1992 book, Snow Crash. The quote begins "YT's mom pulls up the new memo" and then describes how YT's mom will game the system that measures how long she takes to read a memo with an estimated reading time of 15.62 minutes. YT's mom thinks about how her manager, Marietta, will think about each staff member's reading length. Anyone who takes exactly 15.62 minutes will be regarded as a "smartass who needs attitude adjustment".

Huge recommendation for the podcast “The Test Kitchen” (within reply all on some feeds) for the greatest detailed (and confronting for me) breakdown on the structural racism at workplaces:
