This is a very exciting paper. So the rats were clearly able to demonstrate an understanding of connectivity which wasn't reflected within the place cells — it's more of a global reference frame. How do you imagine connectivity is stored?
We guessed the hippocampal map of space in CA1 might contain information about local connectivity in place fields. But we found very clearly that it does not!
