Lack of consequences, echo chambers will have your back. No body language or clear tonal changes so text is oft misinterpreted according to the desires of the reader. Media encouraging outrage and divisiveness for clicks/views. More time spent on social media = more miserable.

Yep, I believe several factors are converging to encourage the worst aspects of human behavior. I think the weaker an individuals self-control and self-reflective tendencies are, the more likely they are to succumb.

Great point. Misinterpretations can also arise due to the reader’s own insecurities (seeing things that aren’t there). We def have plenty of that.
