28/ This is drastically different from PoW mining. In PoW mining, attackers have to pay upfront cost in order to mine a single block. In order to attack, you have to pay first. Period.

I think it's worthwhile to expand the idea of social consensus in terms of network effects as well. It the end, the ledgers that survive, whether PoW or PoS, will do so as a function of social consensus.
