Bitcoin is about physics, not software - and it hurts software developers minds :)

Finality? Also old POW hardware becomes worthless with technical innovation.
-
The marginal gains in bitcoin miners will diminish, and hardware will last longer and find more abundant cheaper energy. It's a bizarre concept, but I think that BitcoinASIC innovation will prove that Moore's Law is dead

Capital drives toward the annihilation of work by time.
-
it's correct if you consider "work" as human energy. But capital creation and maintenance always need "work" in it's energy meaning. Energy is nature's currency, and any operation requires it. human work is just one kind or energy, and may become not efficient soon.

This has been covered before in the fact that POS requires a community to gain value vs bitcoin only needing individuals to agree it has value and calculate the difficulty, The two represent different ideas. Yes Im not securing value Im distributing it which is the point of pos.

The way that you did not address the ways POS secures the network to instead focus on the ways POS does not do things POW does makes your argument overall less sound and come off as biased.

Is any of the work truly discarded? Isn’t every hash attempted, including the trillions of attempts that fail, still part of the work that goes into producing the block. Because as a statistical matter we can be confident that a given difficulty required a given amount of work.
