2/ Gun has been hostile towards Core devs & other researchers (yet he‘s quick to accuse people of ad hominem), taught wrong things & involved in dubious/shady projects for years. He is a tenured professor at Cornell. He should know better.

3/ If the President of the United States does something stupid, does he deserve to be called out specifically? Absolutely. Or should we just attack the “idea”? Because with power comes responsibility.

5/ There have been many who abuse their social status to build a following & exploit others in crypto. Cult following is a lot of what’s wrong with this space. People don’t think for themselves but use popularity/social signal to judge the quality of projects.

The "no ad hominem attacks" rule is a tricky rule in rhetoric/debate because personal incentives and traits are a significant driver and cause for roots of arguments by many people. I agree Gün's behavior is manipulative and unethical.
