(Again, I’m talking about late-stage Bitcoin, not now, as HODLing is crucial early on.)

If my salable good is dog treats in a shop that I own, that's not free riding. If my salable good is bitcoin that I sell in an exchange, that's free riding? Nope. Exactly the same.

I would think the increase in purchasing power is offset by a decrease in purchasing power or value of the asset you would otherwise be holding. Has nothing to do with production output.

You have 1k sitoshi in the bank. You can buy a car today for 1000. Tomorrow the same car will cost 999. Do you need the car today or can you wait for tomorrow. Is the delay a cost? I would argue yes this is a cost and not a free endeavour to forego the car for the additional day.
