A lot of new outlets are running stories that are basically "INCELS: THREAT OR MENACE?" but this one from the DAILY BEAST is pretty good:https://www.thedailybeast.com/sympathy-for-the-incel?ref=home …

Slate Star Codex wrote an interesting angle on it as well, back in 2014:http://slatestarcodex.com/2014/08/31/radicalizing-the-romanceless/ …

Coming as it does on the recent pieces (in Mic for example) about the white nationalist threat not actually being that big, the Incel Panic feels a bit like an effort at a replacement horror for progressives. Like wn, incels can be dangerous as individuals, not a movement.

For all the talk of a beta uprising, incels aren't going to form an army on their own; most of 'em are too depressed for that. And remember, most people don't want to hurt other people.

What you'd want to watch out for is somebody who could manipulate them. If the guy who runs the sex cult with Chloe from SMALLVILLE got the women following him to recruit incels and get them laid, he'd have a small army pretty damn quick.

Replying to @hradzka
I think we're safe from that on the following grounds: 1. the red variant doesn't need a leader since you could just buy skills ebooks 2. the black variant doesn't allow a leader since their defining feature is "improvement is impossible" Is there a leader value proposition?

It ain't the leader; it's what following the leader provides > in basement, on incel forum > DM says "i can help you" > knock on door > a beautiful angel. smiling. she's smiling at you. > "Hi, Anon. It's okay. This is done now. You don't have to do this anymore. Come with me."
