Agree the icon changing right after the video’s published isn't great. This can happen b/c the automated system continues to analyze new info from the video once it’s published. The engineering team is working to improve this experience – we’ll share your example with them.
Yea, why does it wait until it’s live to start analyzing?? Does it not analyze after being uploaded before publishing, and maybe have an icon to let us know so we can fix the problem before we publish it?? I generally schedule my videos.
Hmm, you can actually upload your videos as unlisted for the system to get an early read on the status–if there’s a yellow icon, you can ask the review team to take a look before scheduling it. Hope this helps!
Doesn’t that hurt the video though?? I heard that YouTube’s algorithm watches how well the video performs 1-2 days after it is published. Is that not true? So if it’s published as unlisted, isn’t that affecting the videos potential?
Public videos may be different from Unlisted videos but it can be seen and shared by anyone with the link after uploading it. More info here: https://yt.be/help/gv26 Check our Monetization systems or ‘the ads algorithm’ article here: https://yt.be/help/YwhL . Hope this helps!
Yes, based on the links you sent me, if I were to post a video as unlisted, it would dramatically hurt the engagement. Unless you are suggesting that we send the link to everyone of our subscribers. Is that what you are recommending?
To clarify, we recommend to upload the video as unlisted, so that it can be reviewed first. We understand you're concerned that this might affect the algorithm, but it actually doesn't bc algorithm kicks in after the video is published as public. Hope this helps clarify!
You can run premieres with a video that is already published as unlisted?
Uploading as unlisted is just a suggestion to get an early read on the monetization status of the video, Premieres though is only available on public videos. You can check this article for more info: https://yt.be/help/aCWY .
So there is no realistic way to publish a video without having possible automatic monetization issues? Because if we publish it as unlisted To get reviewed, then we can’t run a premiere, and our subs won’t even get notified. Seems like there’s a hole in the auto-review process.
