    All I can say on this solemn (for me) night is that, whatever the exact sequence of events on Jan. 6, we surely were lucky that the country survived intact. We need to guard our constitution, rule of law and the possibilities we offer humankind with all our might.

    Ok, friend/critics are right. This was unfair, in that, if the account is accurate, gave the obviously correct response—which was to not interfere in the vote count—and gave him no hope for any political support. So smart move, Dan, not backing a Hoosier-led coup!

    Also, if seriously called for Constitutional crisis advice, Pence is even dumber than we thought.

    I doubt the believed might start a war with them. I doubt that our intel people said that about them. But that’s what Milley told Woodward caused him to go to the ramparts. Milley went there knowing that Bob would report it all later. So Woodward kept us safe!:)

    Interesting.

    If this is true GEN Milley must resign. He usurped civilian authority, broke Chain of Command, and violated the sacrosanct principle of civilian control over the military. It’s an extremely dangerous precedent. You can’t simply walk away from that.

    As is said, “hard cases make bad law.” - was the hardest of all cases. Milley was NOT entitled by the Constitution to be involved in a nuclear strike decision, despite what he told his officers. But somebody had to be the last line of defense, and Milley was it.
