Personally I think @TeamYouTube should give it's viewers a choice of how often they want to be notified of subscribed content. The bell icon is misleading and the opt-in approach is not communicated through the UI.
Thanks for the reply. My point is that the UI/UX isn't straight forward or obvious to the normal viewer and it dilutes the meaning of a 'subscriber'. I understand the technical reasoning behind it but not with the approach
