I agree with mostly everything you said except "we SF progressives are better than that." No, some are better but a huge chunk of majority don't care to spend even a modicum amount of fact finding to understand greater context.

I've lived in DC some time before living in SF. I'm glad that drive-by shooting isn't a concern in SF. That being said, we all want things to be better but there hasn't been enough time to assess Chesa's effectiveness. Refer me to a policy analyses and I'll look.
