I agree with mostly everything you said except "we SF progressives are better than that." No, some are better but a huge chunk of majority don't care to spend even a modicum amount of fact finding to understand greater context.

And I want him to thread the needle between advocating for the most vulnerable vs. protecting the citizens from the harm - there has to be a right balance. Also... It's no fun reading about Walgreens getting ransacked (so much so that one of the Walgreens is closing...).

If you are really serious about having a discussion, generally speaking, policy changes take anywhere between 12-18 months before you see any effects. Chesa Boudin was sworn in Jan 8th, 2020. Not enough time has passed to see what the impacts are.
