I will never use the fact that Bernie Sanders has sacrificed his safety to run for president against him. Never.

And I'll tell you what: You'll NEVER hear me criticize Bernie Sanders did not flying coach anymore. His life has changed b/c he's running.

Every dogwhistled gendered smear used against Hillary Clinton? They're used against women every goddamn day of our lives.

And because the narrative being used against her right now? It's used against average women ALL THE TIME.

There are people who wonder why I defend Hillary Clinton all the time, and it's because of aggressively unfair shit like this.

Not for nothing, but I bet a lot of women would avoid public transportation at all costs if they could, for reasons other than "elitism."

Even leaving aside a former First Lady has unique security concerns, there's a profound disparity in gendered experience on public transport

So many times famous dudes are applauded for down-to-earthness for using the subway. As if even non-famous women are safe using the subway.

See, here's the whole thing: Women are always more "likeable" until they decide to take up more space.

If nothing else, electoral coalitions built on the support of those blacks help sustain progressive politics in various urban enclaves.

I will say this until I am out of breath but Southern blacks are an integral part of pulling the South away from reactionary politics.

2. The candidate whose theory rests on a political revolution isn't in a place to handwave away places where his message didn't suffice.

Two thoughts: 1.'"It's the South" sounds dismissive in large part because Sanders touts wins in the rural West.
