curious. Are they seeing a trend and trying to get ahead, or are they actually interested in growing a decentralized twitter and maybe reduce or even get rid of the overhead costs? Getting rid of infrastructure related overhead cost shows a lot of potential with Holochain.

They will not succeed. At least in replacing Twitter/Facebook. The existing network effects are already too strong. They should build something with Holochain that can only be built with Holochain!

I can also imagine it being a stunt to deliberately fail and muddy the decentralised waters, so that people are turned off from decentralisation altogether.
