In the distance you can see a rocky island. In legend this was the home of the Sirens, who called out to Odysseus and his crew. Listen. Do you hear them calling out to you? They’re singing: Write your story. Find your courage. Do the thing you fear to do. You can do this.

I loved Rachel Cusk's new novel, Second Place. Every page had stunning lines about life, art, and love, and the relations between them.
