The third last paragraph hit the nail on the head. Sadly, many still have a picture of Microsoft under Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer, ignoring its transformation. It will take more time for the company to prove itself, even though it has been doing so for years.

If they really love Open Source, they can prove it overnight: if they Opensource Windows and Office, there you are, otherwise they just use Open Source and contribute to it for their own advantage and interests.

So does Apple hate OSS because iOS or MacOS is closed source? This argument is such utter bullshit and becoming so tiring.

I never said they hate FOSS. It's just that their love is an interested one, not an unconditional one.

So you’re saying the only way to prove they’ve legitimately changed is to take very profitable software and make it free?

They could opensource non profitable software, heck! even a 20 year old version of windows would show something.

Okay, seeing windows 3.1.1 open sourced would be pretty cool.
