I don’t get them bosses if they distrust their staff that much why employ them in the first place?

Unfortunately, some bosses are like that. They think (or pretend to think) the world of you before you work there & after you leave; but, as long as you're there and not about to leave, they'll act like you're nearly worthless &, thus, "need" them to constantly stand over you...

I'm currently arguing with someone who is against home workers and thinks covid is pneumonia. I honestly don't understand some people.

I’m lucky enough to be working in a place that sees the value in WFH. However, when I hear about things like this, I suspect that some have tunnel vision and I wonder if they have been over promoted.
