I'm an Aspie, but I don't consider that anything other than my great good fortune. I'm an atheist, and I have my highly-developed critical thinking skills to thank for that. I'm white, but that fact hasn't stopped me from trying to understand white privilege and to fight it.

I'm going to be joining the Democratic Socialist party after exercising my right as a Florida Democrat to vote for Bernie in the primary. If you read my tweets and the "shessays" that I write, on Facebook and elsewhere online, you'll see how simpatico we are.

Tiananmen Square — if you're going to be a protruding nail, be one among many … VERY MANY. A single protestor can't stop a tank or a government willing to send its military against its own citizenry, but let's see what happens next in Hong Kong. It's a toss-up, IMO.

China may not choose to reveal their true nature, but I wouldn't put it past them. They might be willing to hold back and continue to enjoy the sort-of positive feedback generated by Trump's trade war. But then again, they may not be able to resist wielding that hammer.
