Trying to figure things out without reference to where most folks > some folks > and rare individuals are at in their understanding, is doomed to generalized obfuscation, especially in religious matters. If anything, spiritual teachings seem clear on that one point.

Modern and recent developmental findings further support that fundamental principle in every area of learning and cultivation. Even children can understand that at a practical level, and cultures worldwide make adults responsible for children.

To pretend the problem of experience & understanding disappears when one reaches biological maturity is lame, especially in religious matters. To generalize society and religion and individuality, without explicitly accounting for relative ignorance and understanding, is crazy.
